Our media campaign for the latest family friendly exhibition at IWM North in Manchester, part of Imperial War Museums, has hit the big screen with a new cinema advert created to tie-in with the launch of Steven Spielberg’s new Oscar-nominated blockbuster movie, War Horse.

The exhibition, entitled Once Upon A Wartime, is an exploration of five powerful books for children and the true stories and events that inspired them. Michael Morpurgo’s classic novel, War Horse, is one of the books featured in the exhibition, as well as being the basis for Spielberg’s new film.

The campaign consists of a 20-second cinema advert, which has been specifically targeted to run alongside all screenings of War Horse, across 36 cinemas in the North West. aka negotiated a significant discount with media owners Pearl and Dean/DCM, ensuring that the campaign provided a cost effective media opportunity for IWM North.  The campaign will run from 13 January until the film closes.

Admissions to the film have so far exceeded expectations, as word of mouth for War Horse spreads heading into awards season, allowing awareness and anticipation for the exhibition to grow and grow.

Once Upon a Wartime opens at IWM North on 11 February and runs until 2 September 2012.
