Stick Fly kick starts debates

Stick Fly, by Lydia R. Diamond, has taken the audience experience to a new level. The celebrated show is currently holding regular talkback sessions; events for which aka New York has secured high profile sponsors.

Stick Fly is a new play directed by Kenny Leon and produced by Alicia Keys that is currently running at the Cort Theatre on Broadway. It narrates an extended family’s weekend gathering at Martha’s Vineyard, and their subsequent rivalries, clashes and unravelling secrets.

In keeping with the show’s feel, select performances of Stick Fly are followed by intimate, post-performance conversations, in which the audience are invited to ask questions and discuss the play with the cast and creative team. This interaction gives the show’s audience an opportunity to further and deepen their understanding of Stick Fly while transforming their play-going experience into a more collaborative, enriching and community-based activity.

aka secured sponsor organisations, including The Root, USA Network/Psych, Martha’s Vineyard, and Black Enterprise, to host each talk and promote these special events through their own networks. The sponsors were carefully targeted to suit the themes and subject matter of the play, and the talk-backs provide a more engaging and memorable experience for the audience.
